Yesterday, I went to school in the best mood ever. I am 18 and I just finished my driving class at Brent-worth High. I am so excited because I finally get the freedom that I've always wanted. I get to go places with my friends anytime I want; with the exception of the curfew that my auntie Janet gave me, and do things that I have not been able to do without a car and a licence. On the day of my driver's test, I was so nervous.

I had practiced my driving with my Aunt for months. I must admit, I wasn't the best driver because I was constantly nervous. Nervous I was going to crash, nervous I was going to hit a pedestrian or biker, and nervous to get on the expressway. But in due time, day by day, I got accustomed to driving and eventually, I became more relaxed. It was like second nature, like drinking tea and riding a bike.

I think the automatic driving lessons helped me the most. They were taught in my driver's education class at school, much like a simulation. The automatic driving lessons was something that helped calm me down and taught me the rules and precautions of road safety without my Auntie getting short with me when I did something wrong. The automatic driving lessons also taught me defensive driving, or to avoid car collisions at any cost, applying safety first.

There are many driving schools that I could have attended to receive my training, but I am glad I stuck with my high school's driving program. I didn't realize how much the automatic driving lessons worked for me and how the other schools didn't have it.

On the day of my road test, I wasn't nervous because I felt well prepared. My test instructor was a fine and patient individual who wished me luck and comforted me on how fine of a job I would do. I stopped at all stop signs for the designated length of time,I put my signal lights on when I was getting ready to make a pass, and I carefully watched the motorcycle in my rear view mirror pass before I made another pass.Overall, I feel I did a good job and at the end of the road test. When it was all over, the test instructor congratulated me for a job well done and handed me my test pass paper back. "Finally," I said to myself, "let's go to pick out your new car."
